Mother's Day

Mother's Day delivered much goodness!!! This gritty chandelier amongst expressions of love & other goodies! I had put it on lay-away at this old antique shop almost a month before and when Andres called my Mom to ask her if she knew of anything specific I would like, she told him about the white flower chandelier! (Thanks Mom!) I was so excited to see it sitting on the table Sunday morning, and I'm loving it more than ever each and every day!

Things to Remember:
  • The songs Tanner sang to me in his little preschool Mother's Day program.
  • The planted flowerpot from Kynlee, the handmade necklace with words of love from Sydnee and other handmade gifts from the boys.
  • Saturday's "all about me" date night with Andres. Shopping at the Mall for some of my favorite things, Beautiful Body Cream and a white ruffle cardigan from DownEast! A stop by Terra Mia for some hazelnut and almond gelato, then off to a movie.
  • and of course... the white flower chandelier!!!

TaNNeR's Mother's Day Program

Oh my Good-Ness!!! I just can't get enough of my little TaNNeR dReW... Look at that SmiLe and the smiles on all the cute little boys for that matter. That'll pull on a Mom's heart strings, no doubt! Tanner's little class sang two Mother's Day songs to us and it was such a treat! Whenever they'd say "Mom" in the song he'd look for me and point right at me. I'm just loving the age he's at right now.. I don't want him to get any older for at least a few more years. Time is really SO PRECIOUS! I can't believe that sometimes we actually wish it away for whatever reason.. maybe we had a bad day or maybe we're looking forward to some future event, but really ALL time is worth living to the fullest and I hope I will always remember that even the smallest most simple moments are worth treasuring forever! I heard a country song on the radio the other day, of a dad singing about the stages of life and how we are often looking forward to the "next stage" and the main line in the song says "You're goona miss this..." IT'S SO TRUE. I'm already finding myself missing time.. and time that wasn't even that long ago, like when Marcus, Chandler & Sydnee we're Tanner's age. I really miss it!

Mother's Day Surprises!

Marcus & Chandler each potted me scarlet geraniums at scouts and when they went on their field trip to Color Me Mine they both were planning on giving me the mugs they made there as a surprise (they know how much I love my hot chocolate mixtures).

Sydnee gave me a whole bag of goodies! She loves to put together and give people gifts. At school she filled out the little questionaire about me, made bath salts and a little magnet with her picture, and personalized some chore coupons for me to redeem. In the blank on all the coupons, the word she filled in was "neverending," so for example, one said "I will clean my room (neverending) times." It made me laugh. She was so proud and excited to give them to me and was thinking to myself, "hmm.. we'll see how long the "neverending" part lasts." Nevertheless, it's the thought that counts right! As you can see, she also made me a card and threw in some gum and a saftey pin necklace she made at home.

These are McKynlee's little creations from school to me. They had her stamp her hand print all over the big blue paper in different colors of paint and glue on all the confetti. She also made the little star with puffy shapes and potted me a flower!

As for Andres.. I told him that the best present he could give me, would be to give me that Saturday right before M-Day without pulling out his computer and doing ANY work and instead, work with me at getting things done in the yard that I needed his help on and around the house. He kind of rolled his eyes like, "That's what you want for Mother's Day???" Anyway, he did it and I was so happy; but then he went out and still bought me gifts. I seriously would've been completely content with the two dead bushes we pulled from one of our flower beds and divider that he fixed by the firepit that's been sticking up out of the ground FOREVER and the new divider he put in between one of our flower beds and the neighbors yard, where their grass kept growing into our flower bed, etc... but I'm not complaining about the new wireless mouse, & other loot for my Mac that he surprised me with. He also got some Fiskars gardening tools for Tanner to give me. Wahoo, I'd say I scored!!! I got a lot of things done around the yard/house that I couldn't have done without him, PLUS some great gifts. The handmade one's were the best of all!

Amber's Baby Shower for Little Clara~

Saturday, we met at Mimi's Cafe to celebrate a baby shower for Amber's little Clara. It was great timing with Mother's Day being the next day, we were all able to get together for a girls night out with family and really enjoy our role as the Mom's we are and the Mom's we will become through the children we are blessed with and the experiences we share.
