Sosa Family Reunion: 4th of July!!!

The 4th of July was a total BLAST!!!


Some of the guys in the family got up early and ran the 5k Freedom Run, then everybody met up at our house for the yummiest breakfast cookout ever! Elisa made lemon blueberry pancakes from scratch and Carolina made buttermilk syrup from scratch! Oh.my.word... the combination of the two were so good! We also had sausage & bacon, what breakfast cookout would be complete without a little of that? 

About the time we were finishing up with breakfast the water bounce house arrived for the kids!!! YAY! 


Mid-afternoon the moms needed a little time away, we made a mad dash for the semi-annual V.S. bra sale and the big sale at bath and body! We laughed so hard... it was lots of fun.


Once we got back we all felt like a new woman with our new bras on and were ready for the potluck bar-b-que and fireworks later that night!

Ha-ha-ha... and that's how the story ends!

 Sydnee & Hallie made up a dance and performed it for everyone!

Sosa Family Reunion: Deer Creek & Picnic at Silver Lake Flat

This summer, over the 4th of July we gathered together with all the Sosas for our first annual family reunion! It was sooooo much fun! 


Now that both Carolina & Jamie AND Elisa & Alan's families live in CO, we decided we definitely needed to start having family reunions so all the cousins could have the chance to hang out together and we could keep relationships close. 


The first day we met up at Deer Creek with a boat and jet skis! We rented the big pavilion so we'd have shade and we played all day in and out of the water, eating yummy food and drinking way too much soda pop! 

Alan & Elisa's family stayed with us and it was so much fun having them! Saturday we packed the coolers with stuff for lunch and more goodies and headed up to Silver Lake Flat in American Fork Canyon for a picnic. The drive up was so pretty, I loved it!

I hope I'm able to some day convince Chandler that growing his hair out is not his best look! LOL

Later that evening Alan & Elisa had plans to meet up with some of their friends that we also know, so they invited us to come along. We picked up Cafe Rio along the way and went for another picnic up Provo Canyon for dinner.

Hallie is so cute with Kynlee... Even know McKynlee doesn't see and run around and climb the rocks like she does, she always takes the time to come over and give McKynlee a big hug and help her play and do the things McKynlee likes to do, like going down in the splits together or ring around the rosies. 


When it started to get dark we all went back to our house and met up with the rest of the family to go up on the hill and watch the fireworks show from the Stadium of Fire! We popped popcorn to take and added hot tamales for extra goodness, set up our camp chairs and spread out blankets for the kids.


And that wrapped up the first two days of fun!!!
