family movie night @ the school!

(This girl has a total crush on Chandler, she sat right next to him the whole night.. {and close too!} she wasn't shy at all and we were sitting right behind them, I couldn't believe it..  while Chandler acted oblivious to it most of the time. LOL He actually got up a few times to go throw stuff away so he could pass by a different girl that he has a crush on. He makes me laugh!)

The kids school held a family movie night fundraiser a few weeks ago.  We took blankets-n-pillows and spread out all over the gymnasium to watch The Incredible's. We bought punch passes that the kids could use to get all kinds of different treats, popcorn and drinks to watch the movie with. Talk about major sugar high afterward!

SOCCER-

-CHANDLER-

Soccer season ended a few weeks ago.
Andres was the team's coach.
The boys played some really good games.
Then went on to play in the tournament and did well!

Right after the soccer season ended the boys started going through a series of tryouts to be on a triple "A" soccer club team and they both made it! They just posted the team list late Sunday night and Andres was so excited for them that he had to run down and wake them up to tell them, Marcus & Chandler are excited too!!!

It's goona be fun!

Yay for team Sosa!!!

It was that time of year again.. the pinewood derby!

This year Sydnee got to participate too! She was SO excited... At the beginning of the year in her Activity Days group they got together and wrote down things they wanted to do throughout the year. For the Daddy-Daughter activity they all decided that they really wanted to do a pinewood derby, and that they did!

The boys have done the pinewood derby race before but didn't do as well as they'd hoped to, so this year we put some major time and effort into making the best-est fast-est cars ever! Andres did research online and had a friend of his that we like to call the pinewood derby expert give us some winning tips.

Marcus 1st Place
Chandler 2nd Place
Sydnee 2nd Place

Sydnee's white car comin' in for a tight race!

Marcus when he found out his car won 1st place!

Marcus.. he's definitely a "whistle while you work" kinda guy!

  • he loves to cook
  • he loves to act silly
  • he loves music with a good beat
  • he loves to shake is booty (although he'd never admit it)

Therefore...
When I asked him to help cook up the tortillas for dinner a few weeks ago and he heard the rock-n-roll music playing in the background he was all over it!

what the SNOW is goin' on???

Monday, May 24th

MAY 24th.

We woke up to a winter wonderland.
It was a full-on blizzard.
Later that evening it had almost all melted.
leaving floods of water puddles.
broken tree branches.
and sunny, blue skies.

Seasons. Sm-easons.
I don't know what to think anymore.

It's the last week of school, and we're officially supposed to be going into summer very soon. I hope we don't have a repeat of last summer's cold month of June where my kids were flocking inside to play and stay cozy, asking for hot chocolate and if we could turn on the fireplace.

..and please, oh please... don't let all the flowers I spent hours planting last week die!

it seemed as if it would never come...

as usual...

but then it does...

and it's totally worth the wait!

Spring!

This is my favorite spring tree in our yard!
I find myself taking numerous photos of it year after year...

and making time to walk into the one room in our house
with the perfect view from the window just to admire it!

I love living right below this gorgeous mountain too!
It delivers the most picturesque back drop as the seasons come & go...

Sleepover with Daphne!

(photo taken while having dinner @ Noodles)

Sydnee & Daphne

Sydnee loves spending time with Daphne. She got to have a sleepover with her a few weeks ago that she could hardly wait for.  She wishes that we lived closer to her so they could play A LOT MORE OFTEN!

Daphne's mom Lara & I are friends too, and due to the distance we don't get to hang out and see each other as often as we'd like either... so we made it a girls-night-out! When I took Sydnee to drop her off, we took the girls and went to dinner at Noodles and then for a yummy treat at The Sweet Tooth Fairy! Before heading home, I spent some time back at Lara's house helping her rearrange some furniture in her house (one of our favorite things to do!) and looking at all the most recent room changes she'd made!
