~A day to remember, forever & ever...

McKynlee's teacher called home from school around 12:30 p.m. yesterday and said she had a really good peice of news to surprise us with. She asked me if McKynlee had been walking on her own here at home at all yet, and I said, no; but that she had been standing in one place on her own when I would walk her around the culdesac and stop to feel the different flowers and bushes lately. She said that they went on their usual walk over to the park (pushing her in the stroller on the way there) and then they got out to play and McKynlee was trying to get the teacher to let go of her hand and so she did and she continued walking all by herself for the very first time. She said that McKynlee got all excited when she realized what she was doing and that she wasn't holding on to anything/anyone, and all she wanted to do after that was WALK, WALK, WALK!!! The teacher and everyone there at school were so happy that they wanted us to come and see her right away. Andres & I dropped everything of course, and rushed over. What a special day that we will always remember, the day we first saw McKynlee walk all by herself! I can remember doubting and wondering if this day would ever come at times.

One of my best friends Kim, posted this quote on her blog yesterday & it was extra meaningful to me because of what we'd experienced with McKynlee:

"SO MUCH HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME, I HAVE NO TIME TO PONDER OVER THAT WHICH HAS BEEN DENIED."
