Easter weekend...

Easter was extra special this year... mainly because it fell over conference weekend! General Conference occurs twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. It is a time where we gather together as members of our church to listen to talks that have been prepared for us with the intent to guide and inspire in all different areas of life. It is so uplifting and I look forward to the feeling I get from being spiritually fed each and every time.

Saturday we made plans to meet up with my parents for lunch in between the morning and afternoon sessions for lunch at one of my Dad's and now Tanner's favorite restaurants, Johanna's Kitchen! My Dad has taken Tanner out on some little one-on-one lunch dates to Johanna's and now Tanner's always askin' when he can go see his buddy (a.k.a. Grandpa) and go out to eat at Johanna's!

McKynlee loves to bounce & roll on the big red ball!

After lunch we went up to Grandma & Grandpa's house where we snuggled in all cozy and watched the afternoon session of conference together. Then came...

The Easter Egg Hunt!

Looks like the dusty old chicken laid an egg!

While Andres & my Dad went to the priesthood session, my Mom and I cooked up the dinner we'd soon eat once they got home! Mom made her famously-delicious spaghetti, I chopped up a crispy salad loaded with colorful veggies + some homemade garlic toast sprinkled with parsley and for dessert we had refreshing strawberry shortcake with whipped cream! While we worked in the kitchen the kids snuggled up in the basement and watched The Prince of Egypt while they nibbled on goodies they found on the Easter Egg Hunt!

 Cozy, Cozy...

Kynlee just l-o-v-e-s hugs from Grandma!
...and at the end of the day, we headed home for a good nights rest in preparation for...

A Most Pleasant Easter Sunday!

It all began bright-n-early with Easter baskets filled to the brim with surprises from Peter Cotton Tail!

We heart owls!! ..and aren't the pictures in her book gritty, I just love 'em!

Then we snuggled up & listened to the morning session of conference!

Cooked...

Snuggled up again and listened to the afternoon session of conference!

When all at once, a *knock, knock, knock-knock, knock, knock-knock* at the door and Grandma & Grandpa were here for Easter dinner!

The Menu:

After enjoying our dinner & dessert we popped some popcorn and watched The Work & the Glory together!
