The Kitchen: Through the Years revealed...

(We got our new appliances and when we took out the old microwave we saw the three different stages our kitchen has been through. First, it was all oak cabinets with white walls and brass hardware, then we did a mini-makeover and had the cabinets painted red, replaced the hardware with new oil rubbed bronze hardware and I painted a faux brick back splash and now.. the big makeover, fresh white cabinets, the real white subway tile back splash and new vintage glass hardware.)

I found one of my favorite doors for $35, the one like my parents have that I always talk about!!! Now I'm pricing out all the changes that need to be made to turn it into my new gritty front door and I can hardly wait to have it all finished and hung!

No School Monday...

McKynlee had school today, but the rest of the kids had the day off.

When the yellow school bus drove away we all piled on my bed & watched Sky High.

Then it was brunch @ Kneaders and playing on the Provo River Trail.

Since then Sydnee's had a friend over to play & Marcus too..

but Chandler's been voicing his ultimate boredom off & on,

while Tanner's been asking to play a computer game endlessly..

with my instant reminder that 'of course he can when his room is all clean!'

I sound like a broken record today.. 

in fact I sound like a broken record most days!

Oh and what's a day without laundry...

I've always got mountains of it, whether it's dirty or clean.

Marcus said.. 'Look Mom, my breakfast croissant looks like the batman sign.'

I found some new lamps for my night stands and I'm l-o-v-i-n-g them!!!

I've been so sick of the ones I already had for a long time now,

and I've had my eye out for some new ones for months but no luck.

It takes time when you're trying to find what you like @ a reasonable price.

But good things come those who wait right...

I found these at Ross for $34.99 a piece.

I thought that was a good deal for nice big lamps like that,

and they are making me so very happy!!!

Now I can't wait to re-paint the walls,
change up the window coverings and
spruce up the bedding & decor a bit!


We took a ton of photos on the trail today..
lots of continuous action photos,
is that even what you'd call it?? 
Ya know.. where you just keep taking photos one right after another.
That's Marcus' favorite thing to do.. 
good thing I no longer use film,
he'd whip through a roll of film in a minute flat!

 

 

 Tonight was family home evening!
Andres had to work about an hour longer so what did I do...
I gathered all the kids and we headed out into the blizzard for dinner @ JCW's,
home of the.best.cheeseburger.fries & shakes.ever!
Golly- we ate out twice today, I better get a meal plannin'
so we can eat some good old home cookin' the rest of the week.
It was yummy though...
we hadn't been to JCW's in forever!
When we got home Andres was there waiting to join in the fun!
We all got in our pajamas,
watched Monsters vs. Aliens,
had family prayer,
tucked the kids in bed,
late night sonic run,
Andres working,
me blogging,
listening to Glenn Beck
as I write...
now I'm tired,
